Jeanné Wynne Herring | Director & Producer
With a career spanning 30 years across theater, film, and multimedia, Jeanné Wynne Herring is a director defined by her ability to balance artistic soul with executive execution. Her directorial work is characterized by a keen sense of tempo and thematic resonance, ensuring that even the most challenging social narratives engage and move a modern audience.
Directorial Highlights:
* Manoa Valley Theatre: Directed What the Constitution Means to Me as part of the 2024–2025 MainStage season (performed in 2025).
* Dark Night Series: Helmed the summer dark night production of American Son at Manoa Valley Theatre to critical praise.
* Upcoming Work: Set to direct the Manoa Valley Theatre production of Clyde’s by Lynn Nottage, opening July 16, 2026.
* Social Impact: Served as the Hawaii affiliate for Project1Voice (2013–2018), producing and directing seminal works including For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf, The Colored Museum, and Four Little Girls: Birmingham 1963.
Creative Leadership:
As the founder of Excellence Happens, LLC, Jeanné has produced numerous stage productions and contributed behind-the-scenes expertise to independent film projects. She is the creator of The Lolita Gentry Project, an original work currently in development.
Holding a B.A. in Theater Production from Santa Clara University, her background as a professional actor gives her a unique shorthand with talent, while her production training ensures that every creative choice is backed by technical feasibility and fiscal awareness.
