I am thrilled to celebrate my 20th year with Manoa Valley Theatre by directing this incredibly timely show! It feels like just yesterday when I performed my first production in Hawaii—MVT's "Cabaret." Since then, I've had the joy of taking part in several other memorable MVT productions and even producing fundraisers for the theatre through my company, Excellent Happens. Manoa has not only been a canvas for my creativity, but the staff have also become dear friends and unwavering supporters. I am immensely proud to join the ranks of the island's most talented directors to bring one of MVT’s shows to life. I truly hope you'll have the opportunity to attend this production and many more wonderful shows at MVT!

What the Constitution Means to Me
Written by Heidi Schreck
Directed by Jeanné Wynne Herring
January 23rd - February 2nd, 2025
About:
"What the Constitution Means to Me" is a captivating, deeply personal play by Heidi Schreck that explores the intersections of constitutional ideals and contemporary American life. Using her own teenage experience competing in Constitution-themed speech contests, Schreck weaves together personal stories, historical anecdotes, and social critique. As she reflects on issues like gender equality, personal rights, and the impact of the Constitution on her family, the play engages audiences in a thought-provoking dialogue about democracy's promises and pitfalls. Bursting with humor and poignancy, it invigorates the debate on the relevance of the Constitution in modern society.
